How do I get involved in these events?
A call for volunteers goes out first to AMC members, giving them the opportunity to choose which activities they want to get involved in. Committee members are chosen from the AMC membership, providing outstanding leadership training and introductions to other community leaders volunteering their time and talents.

Do you get very involved in major community events?

What about your charity events?
Over the past twenty years, we have raised over $1.3 million for an entire spectrum of charities and schools. And when we say $1.3 million raised, that means that $1.3 million was ‘in the pockets’ of charities ranging from the American Cancer Society and Make-A-Wish Foundation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and scholarships at Florida Int. University.
Do you work with your school system?
We are the proud winners of four consecutive annual "Dade Partner" awards from the Miami-Dade County Public Schools for our very strong programs we have with our eight Dade Partner schools, and were recently inducted into the Dade Partners Hall of Fame.
Our award-winning Education Committee meets monthly to continue working on programs such as our Student Connection (program for at-risk students), career shadowing days, mentorships, career guidance, job placement and so much more!

How do you work with the city of Aventura?
Once Aventura incorporated in 1995 and voted in their first mayor and commission, we became close working partners with the city.
The mayor and commissioners, the city manager and department heads attend our monthly Breakfast Meetings.
We hold frequent “Meet Your City Manager and Police Chief” meetings where members have an opportunity for ‘one-on-one’ questions and interaction.
Each month we honor the “Aventura Police Officer of the Month” at our Breakfast Meetings.
Each year, we sponsor the “City of Aventura Update Meeting” where the city manager presents a program detailing all the new commercial, residential and transportation projects in the city.
We provide the city with extensive coverage in the Aventura News about their ongoing projects, programs and special events.
How long have you been in existence?
We are now celebrating our 20th anniversary of building community and creating business for our members. Long before the city of Aventura was incorporated, the Aventura Marketing Council worked closely with the Joint Council of Aventura, the community’s major residential organization, to handle traffic, signage, beautification, security and all other commercial and residential issues.
How do you handle referrals?
The Aventura Marketing Council is called upon frequently to refer businesses for goods and services. A listing of all members in good standing in the requested category is provided to the caller.
How can I display my goods or services to the AMC membership?
Our Annual Table Top Expo is the perfect opportunity. Each year, working in conjunction with the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, we host almost 500 members from both organizations to enjoy the networking and hospitality set amidst a sea of 140+ display tables.
How can my company network within your organization?
Take your choice! There are fabulous Breakfast Meetings where you can meet prospective clients from 7:30 - 8 a.m. before the program starts. Our ‘after-hours’ Networking Receptions offer members an evening (5:30 - 7 p.m.) focused on meeting new people. The SpeedBiz meetings also offer prime networking time.
Don’t forget about our wonderful committees that meet monthly or the major special events that have the eyes of the world upon us!
Best idea: Take advantage of all of the above...just another benefit of membership!
How do you help members promote their businesses?
The Aventura Marketing Council purchases eight pages every week in the Aventura News (weekly distrib. 20,000) to do nothing but promote our members! There are feature stories and photos week after week about AMC members.
Every member is listed categorically online under www.aventuramarketingcouncil.org
New members are introduced and presented with a beautiful plaque at each Breakfast Meeting. In addition, we create a flyer every month with a write-up on each new member that is distributed at the Breakfast Meetings.
How is the organization funded?
100% of our operational expenses come from members' dues. We receive no funding from the city, county or state.
