Dedicated Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Service teams who help save lives and protect the community were recently honored during “A Salute to Fire Rescue” Aventura Marketing Council/World-Class Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting hosted by American Medical Response  (AMR) - the nation’s leading medical transportation company committed to making a difference by caring for people in need.

“The Aventura Marketing Council has been recognizing public safety entities and our search and rescue teams for almost two decades,” said Dave Downey, Fire Chief for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department. “As a Fire Chief and Task Force leader for FL-TF1, one of the 28 national urban search and rescue teams in the nation, I appreciate their commitment, recognition and support over the years.”

AMC Chair Cliff Schulman of Weiss Serota Helfman, joined by AMR founder Bob Garaner, east coast Business Development Manager David Sanford, and Regional Director Terence Ramotar welcomed hundreds of business and community leaders gathered at Turnberry Isle Miami. The event recognized thousands of men and women who serve millions of residents, businesses and visitors in Miami-Dade County cities including, Miami, Miami Beach, Hialeah, Coral Gables and Key Biscayne, as well as Hallandale Beach and Hollywood in Broward County.

On behalf of AMR, Sanford explained, “We back up and partner with the Fire Rescue departments and assist by responding to non-life threatening 911 calls so our Fire Rescue departments can be ready for life threatening calls. It takes caring, level-headed, dedicated people to respond and comfort patients and families; and organized, compassionate leaders to keep the spirits up for the thousands of brave Fire Rescue professionals throughout our community, also responsible for keeping equipment ready to roll.”

Ramotar joined in praising the Fire Rescue leaders AMR partners with to help deliver the highest levels of quality patient care . “What strikes me the most is their incredible passion in the pursuit of excellence.”

Perfectly in tune with the auspicious occasion, talented 15-year-old vocalist Cameron Wheeler proceeded to sing tribute songs including Hero, Wind Beneath My Wings and I Believe I Can Fly as Fire Rescue professionals were honored for their hard work, dedication, and placing the safety of others above their own on a daily basis.
