From Rodeo Drive - to Country Club Drive…The Grill on the Alley recently celebrated the opening of its seventh flagship restaurant at Aventura Mall with a gala ribbon cutting and networking reception attended by over 120 Aventura Marketing Council business and community leaders.

Aventura Mayor Susan Gottlieb, Vice Mayor Billy Joel, Commissioners Zev Auerbach, Michael Stern and Luz Weinberg and City Manager Eric Soroka joined North Miami Beach Councilwoman Phyllis Smith in the ribbon-cutting ceremony with Grill on the Alley general manager David Rufener and assistant general manager Jeff Martin, who helped welcome the great turnout of guests invited to enjoy the “famously American” evening.

Leaders from Aventura Mall, Northern Trust, Aventura Hospital and Medical Center and Bloomingdale’s were especially impressed by the Grill’s recipe for success. Reminiscent of old-time grills in New York and San Francisco, the original Beverly Hills restaurant opened in 1984 and became an instant hit - serving a classic menu of prime steaks, chops, fresh seafood, pasta and freshly prepared salads.

Colleagues from IDB Bank, Wachovia Securities, EWM Realty and Miami-Dade College learned that under the leadership of CEO Philip Gay, The Grill is continuing its legendary traditions in major cities including San Jose, Hollywood, Chicago, Dallas – and now Aventura.

"We believe our fine-dining restaurant concept is perfectly suited for Aventura Mall, which is a leading high-end shopping destination for international visitors and is also one of the highest grossing malls in the country," Gay said. "We look forward to introducing our freshly prepared American cuisine and uncompromising service to the visitors and local patrons of Aventura Mall and Miami-Dade County."

Friends from IDEA, Tanenbaum Insurance, Imperial Club, Stern Bloom Media and AFLAC agreed The Grill on the Alley is ideally located in the mall’s courtyard piazza, featuring more than 7,000 square-feet of indoor and patio seating for up to 250 diners.

Teams from Eggwhites Catering, Ultimate Boxing & Fitness, Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center and Bookkeepers USA had rave reviews for The Grill’s sophisticated yet unpretentious ambiance plus superior quality classic American food.

Inducted into the Nation's Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame in 1995, The Grill is also a member of the Distinguished Restaurants of North America and was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as a power-lunch spot where “the business elite” can enjoy specialty sandwiches like the Santa Fe Chicken Wrap, The Grill Cobb Salad, Steak Salad, Shrimp Louie and Angel Hair Pasta Pomodoro.

Entrepreneurs from Potamkin Honda, Keller Williams, O’Connell & Goldberg and Christine Lee’s discovered The Grill on the Alley lives up to their motto “quality without compromise” with dinner dishes like Prime New York Steak, Bone-In Filet Mignon, Charbroiled Scottish Salmon, Parmesan Crusted Chilean Sea Bass, Pan-Seared Sea Scallops, Oven Roasted Garlic Chicken, Braised Short Ribs and the “Prime Rib Dinner” served after 5 p.m. on Sundays with cream spinach, baked potato, Yorkshire pudding, au jus and creamy horseradish.

Busy executives from The Apple Organization, Hadassah, Classic Residence by Hyatt, State Farm and The Credit Council marked their calendars for relaxing at the Grill’s Happy Hours Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the bar with complimentary appetizers. The Grill is also famous for hand crafted martinis, cocktails and classic highballs prepared by professional “mixologists.”

Before the memorable evening was over, everyone was already looking forward to returning to The Grill on the Alley for the best “famously American” dining experience that always has a happy ending like Hazelnut Kahlua Crème Brulee topped with caramelized sugar!
