Wealth conservation and “law & order” preservation were the themes of the day when BKR Media Consultants and U.S. Century Bank hosted an Aventura Marketing Council Chairman’s Roundtable luncheon featuring guest speaker Katherine Fernandez Rundle, Miami-Dade County State Attorney.

AMC Chair Cliff Schulman of Greenberg Traurig welcomed business and community leaders to Christine Lee’s at Gulfstream Park for the enlightening event providing  information about diverse topics ranging from media promotions and financial security – to fighting public corruption and petty theft.

Jennifer Becker, president of BKR Media Consultants, explained, “BKR Media provides many services under one roof – from creative design, website conception and copywriting – to media placement and advertising, we do all aspects of promotion. BKR has extensive experience executing successful local and national public relations and marketing campaigns for diverse clients including governmental institutions, high-profile real estate and hospitality developers, retail, finance and non-profit organizations.

“With the advent of new technology, an array of media opportunities can now play a very critical role in your success, especially when trying to distinguish yourself from competitors. These mediums allow you to engage more effectively, directly and rapidly with a target audience – and today, it’s possible to enhance exposure without paying as much.”

Armando Trabanco, senior vice president of U.S. Century Bank noted, “Established in 2002, U.S. Century has become one of Florida's fastest-growing community banks with more than $2 billion in total assets, almost $180 million in equity capita and a rapidly expanding branch network throughout Miami-Dade and Broward. Our Aventura branch is conveniently located on Northeast 182nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard.”

U.S. Century customers appreciate highly-individualized service and banking solutions that help achieve personal and business financial goals. A complete range of products and services offered includes checking, savings and money market accounts, consumer loans, card services, Internet banking with bill pay, business loans and financing, cash management, commercial real estate lending, remote deposit capture, as well as merchant and global banking services.

Turning to cost efficiency in the fight against crime, Rundle announced that with the help of Aventura Police Chief Steve Steinberg’s leadership, a new pilot program will be introduced in the city to help handle non-violent petty theft cases.

“Merchants usually get their property back and  first-time offenders wind up getting their records expunged anyway, so this program can save merchants, police officers and the community time and money,” Rundle said.

“What will happen is an offender can say, ‘I want to enter this diversion program.’ Then an officer won’t have to be downtown booking a petty thief - and since the case never goes to the courtroom, retailers won’t have to send witnesses down to give evidence. Prosecutors will also be more available so this makes a lot of sense. We’re going to try it first in Aventura and if it works, the program will become a model for all of Miami-Dade County.

“This exemplifies good teamwork, good partnerships and good police work. Thanks to  everyone in Aventura for the ‘forward thinking’ here. Miami-Dade County is one of the best counties in the country…who wouldn’t want to live here?!”
