It was a very “eventful” afternoon when Aventura Young Professionals were invited to enjoy a sumptuous luncheon at Chef Allen’s Modern Seafood Bistro highlighting the renowned restaurant’s gourmet itinerary of superb summer events.
Chef Allen Susser and AYP Chair Jeff Levinson of Sabadell United Bank helped welcome a great turnout of under-45 professionals looking forward to having the dilemma of choosing between entrees including Pistachio Crusted Mahi Mahi with fricassee of rock shrimp, mango, leeks and coconut rum; or Wood Fired NY Strip with herb-roasted fingerling potatoes, brocccolini, demi-glace. But of course, it was easy to decide to indulge in dessert: Key lime pie with an oatmeal cookie crust and mixed berry compote.
So glad to be year-round residents of Aventura, AYP members from Melnick, Lilienfeld & Castonguay, CPA’s, Northern Trust, Stern Bloom Media, Marksman Security and Aventura Mall learned one Chef Allen’s best “summer events” happens daily when you can come in early and enjoy classic recipes in a 3-course, prix-fixe menu for only $25 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (excludes Tuesdays).
Learning just how terrific Tuesdays can be, leaders from the Florida Marlins, Morgan Stanley, Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center and Williams Island POA made plans to meet again on Tuesdays at Chef Allen’s when a 3-course, 1 ½ lb. Maine Lobster dinner is just $36 – and you can add a craft beer flight for only $10.
Agreeing Wednesdays have never been so wonderful, friends from MultiLingua, NationwideGoToBilling.com, Coane & Associates, the Office of Dr. Frederick Knoll, Random Source, ASAP Services and attorney Eric J. Miller were thrilled to learn that on “Wine-Down Wednesdays,” every bottle on Chef Allen’s wine list is offered at half price. Plus, the last Wednesday of each month, there’s a complimentary tasting of wines from around the world paired with hors d’oeuvres and finger foods from 6 to 7 p.m.
Aspiring chefs from TruMedical, DS Xpress, Seo4anyone.com, BKR Media, Biscayne Cove, Fishman Dispute Resolutions, All in 1 Productions, Circle of Lifesaving, Brickman Group and State Farm Insurance couldn’t wait to sign up for Chef Allen’s popular summer cooking classes from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every other Friday when you can learn some of this summer’s most exciting and interesting new dishes; different ways to cook with spices; and how flavors complement certain wines. The cost is $15 per person and if you stay for dinner, 15% will be deducted from your final bill.
During the luncheon, Chef Allen shared great news about the success of the recently held Share Our Strength (SOS) “Taste of the Nation” culinary benefit to help support the fight to end hunger held this year at The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club. Chef Allen’s is a leading supporter of SOS - a national non-profit organization that raises money to feed the hungry through the efforts of chefs all around the country.
Before the luncheon was over, there was one more big summer event to celebrate: Chef Allen’s exceptionally priced “Miami Spice” menu – especially applauded by lucky Stephen Price of Goldstein, Schecter, Koch who won the dinner for two door prize!
