“There is definitely a shared caring among all of us…I’m grateful that ‘Kindsight’ is being well received at Aventura Hospital and will hopefully provide comfort, perspective and even inspiration to those who see it.” Robert G. Zuckerman

In the motion picture industry, Robert G. Zuckerman is renowned for being one of the most talented photographers in the country – and now, his artistry is debuting close to home at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, where Zuckerman’s “Kindsight” series will be exhibited for the remainder of the year.

Aventura Marketing Council members were recently invited to share in the festive opening reception for “Kindsight” and personally meet Zuckerman, who graciously autographed copies of his book blending images and words to illuminate and celebrate the richness of everyday life through random encounters and moments.

A great turnout of business and community leaders sharing rave reviews for the “Kindsight” exhibit were welcomed by Aventura Hospital CEO Heather Rohan, marketing and physician relations director Robyn Kane, hospital administrators and board members including Aventura Commissioners Bob Diamond and Billy Joel and Sunny Isles Beach Comm. Gerry Goodman.  Special thanks was given to the hospital’s food and nutrition staff and environmental and engineering teams who helped make the event such a masterpiece success.

“It was indeed a special evening where Robert Zuckerman’s life’s work, along with his beautiful family were the ‘stars’ of the show – it was thoroughly enjoyed by all,” Rohan said.

From taxi and bus drivers to waitresses, plumbers and kids at a playground, “Kindsight” merges the ordinary with the extraordinary. James Crump, renowned fine art publisher and curator, says, “Zuckerman’s portraits are infused with an uncanny sense of hope and spirit in the post 9/11 era.” The book also includes forewords by Will Smith, Debra Winger, poet Michael Lally and novelist Elaine Kagan; and is currently on the PEN American Center’s “Best Book Read This Year” list.

Originally evolving in 2003 as a series of e-mails sent by Zuckerman to friends and associates, today “Kindsight” exhibitions include permanent displays at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, Google Headquarters in New York City – and now Aventura Hospital has joined the list of premier sites where “Kindsight” can be appreciated by the community.

“Hospitals are well suited for ‘Kindsight,’ as it celebrates human spirit and radiates healing energy,” Zuckerman said. For me, photography as much as possible has become an integration of life and craft. Through it I am able to give value to people’s lives and derive value in my own life.”

Complementing the exhibition, “Kindsight” books and limited edition prints are on sale at Aventura Hospital’s gift shop with proceeds primarily going toward the ongoing care of Zuckerman’s sister as well as the hospital’s charities of choice.

“I really enjoyed meeting Aventura Marketing Council members,” Zuckerman said. “What a dynamic caring, diverse group of people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a wonderful, unforgettable event.”

Aventura Marketing Council president Elaine Adler noted, “What a pleasure to bring our members to Aventura Hospital for a very special reception to meet Robert Zuckerman and his entire family. ‘Kindsight’ is most appropriately named. You can just feel the kindness and caring he brings to his work - exactly like the outstanding team at Aventura Hospital, where the ‘Kindsight’ project has found a perfect home.”
